What is your most memorable interview experience? (as the interviewer)
When an interviewee decided to talk for 15 minutes (without notes) instead of following the brief, which was to prepare a presentation on a specific topic. Initially I was stunned by their bravado, but then disappointed when they rambled off topic for the full 15 minutes. It highlighted their lack of research and knowledge of the audience.
Which person dead or alive inspires you?
Winston Churchill – “Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts.” This quote has inspired me throughout my career.
What is the best piece of advice given to you about your career?

What do you like most about working for HSB Engineering Insurance?
Variety, no two days are the same. Leading and managing a field-based team of approx. 250 engineers spread all over the UK and Eire, meeting clients and liaising with other departments, keeps me on my toes.
What has been your most memorable project at HSB Engineering Insurance?
Introducing new technology to the field-based engineers. Managing the change and training the teams, particularly those less familiar of using new technology, has been very rewarding.
