Construction and engineering are both sectors where women often have limited visibility. A 2017 survey suggests only 11% of the engineering workforce is female which is the lowest in Europe.
The percentage of women choosing to study engineering has stayed the same over the past 6 years and the number of women choosing to study computing is actually dropping.
Despite this, job satisfaction among female engineers is high, there's a skills shortage, and high starting salaries AND companies who are gender diverse perform around 15% better.
Take a look at this infographic to see how this compares to the construction industry.
