Senior Configuration Engineer

Location: Harlow

Raytheon UK are seeking a Senior Configuration Engineer to join a key programme within the business. In this role you will be the dedicated CMDM Lead for the programme and will be responsible for planning, developing, establishing and maintaining the configuration of both hardware and software for a multitude of new and legacy systems spread across multiple sites. 

Main duties

  • To establish and maintain Configuration Management (CM) baselines for both hardware and software across multiple providers
  • Administer Configuration and Data Management (DM) to ensure compliance in support of allocated company contracts and as required by relevant program security requirements
  • Create and maintain program Configuration and Data Management plans
  • Contribute to functional strategy
  • Interface with all levels of customer and multiple user groups
  • Administer Configuration Change Control
  • Issue and control program artefacts
  • Create, maintain and support program specific spreadsheets, databases, reports and metrics archive, retain and maintain both customer and Raytheon hardware and software artefacts in a suitable DM repository
  • Create, maintain and store appropriate program historical build data
  • Execute configuration audits
  • Customer liaison as required
  • Maintain program alignment through communication with appropriate program personnel
  • Establish and maintain an agreed regime for management and customer reviews and reporting on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Provide functional reviews from a CM and DM perspective as required
  • Interface with Supply Chain Management and directly with sub-contractor staff

Candidate Requirements

Desirable

  • Ability to manage a complex task involving multiple sites, multiple systems, multiple user and customer interfaces at all levels
  • Able to integrate and work within a team
  • Appropriate degree qualification or equivalent
  • Conversant with Military (DEF STANS), Commercial CM Standards and ISO9001
  • Knowledge of CM applied to software development programmes
  • Working knowledge of CM and DM requirements within the Engineering Development Life Cycle
  • SC clearance or ability to obtain it

Desirable

  • Project management skills
  • Able to work autonomously or as part of a team
  • Experience working to ITAR regulations
  • Experience of Process Improvement Initiatives and techniques
