Avionics & Aerospace Engineering Jobs

This is a fast-paced, dynamic sector; aerospace engineering jobs include two clear divisions - aeronautical and astronautical - and engineers are mainly responsible for designing and building the structure of a craft such as an aircraft or spacecraft, as well as enhancing high quality flight safety and standards, as well as reducing system costs.

Aeronautical engineers also supply scientific and technological principles to research, design, develop, maintain and test the performance of civil and military aircraft, missiles, weapons systems, satellites and space vehicles. Meanwhile, avionics concentrates on infrastructure and the electronic systems used within a craft, for example the way it communicates, its fuel systems and its working functions and reports. Engineers must be able to find solutions that will meet the requirements of a project with regard to the legal, human and financial constraints placed on the programme, while satisfying the customer’s requirements.

As aviation avionics are a huge part of modern aeroplanes, this is a crucial element, for example, when considering the safety and performance of a commercial airliner; even the slightest software glitch can have terrible consequences.
