In the last five years we have undertaken an extensive programme of expansion in our Construction, Building Technologies and Engineering offer, with the development of a new £10 million building: Dudley Advance, which opened its doors in 2014. This state-of-the-art facility dedicated to Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing has allowed us to grow our course provision.
The second phase of our planned growth is Advance II, due for completion in June 2017. Advanced II is our new £12 million Centre for Advanced Building Technologies, which will house the most advanced teaching and learning facilities in the region, for training apprentices, technicians and professionals in the construction sector. Digital engineering, modular construction, virtual and augmented reality are just a few of the new areas of technology that will be available and the new centre will serve to address the cross-over between construction, engineering and manufacturing.

Dudley College is a long established general Further Education college situated in the Black Country Metropolitan Borough of Dudley in the West Midlands.
Enrolling around 12,000 students each year across four thousand academic and vocational programmes, on both a full and part-time basis, Dudley College has been at the forefront of delivering high levels of growth in Apprenticeship numbers in the region.

This new state-of-the-art facility dedicated to Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing has allowed us to grow our course provision so we now have 350 full-time 16-18 year old learners and 500 part-time adult learners, 150 Higher Education students and 450 apprentices across our Construction and Engineering programmes.
The second phase of our planned growth is Advance II, due for completion in June 2017. Advanced II is our new £12 million Centre for Advanced Building Technologies which will house the most advanced teaching and learning facilities in the region, for training apprentices, technicians and professionals in the construction sector.
The 3,500 m2 Advance II Centre will be at the cutting edge of advanced construction and environmental technologies. In addition to technical areas and a low carbon green technologies centre the new build will include a four-storey “internal building site” called the Hangar, where modern building assembly techniques can be taught and a digital centre where learners can acquire the latest skills in Building Information Modelling (BIM).
It’s an exciting time for the Engineering sector as a whole in the region with several high profile infrastructure projects underway including High Speed 2 Rail, the Elite Centre for Manufacturing and The Very Light Rail Innovation centre.
