The Royal Aeronautical Society is the world's only professional institution dedicated to the entire aerospace community. Established in 1866 to further the art, science and engineering of aeronautics, the Society has been at the forefront of developments in aerospace ever since.

The RAeS is a licensed body of the Engineering Council, accredited to award the professional qualifications of Chartered Engineer (CEng), Incorporated Engineer (IEng) and Engineering Technician (EngTech). Registration is open to all engineering professionals who can demonstrate competence to perform professional work to the necessary standards.
