Job Description

Principal Objectives

Working as part of a team, the Services Consultant role is responsible for providing software support, training, implementation and consulting to Vista’s worldwide customer base.

This involves:

  • Working with Vista’s overseas business partners and customers to address any software issues
  • Investigating and resolving any problems that arise with Vista software
  • Installation and configuration of the Vista system on sites both within NZ and around the world
  • Providing end user training to cinema and technical staff
  • Working with customers to solve their business requirements using Vista software

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting customers to solve their business requirements using Vista software
  • Working with Vista’s overseas business partners and customers to promptly address any software issues
  • Investigating and resolving any problems that arise with Vista software
  • Reading and understanding program code (.Net) to assist with problem solving
  • Using SQL Server and SQL statements to assist with problem solving
  • Reading and interpreting error logs
  • Recording all details of support calls into Vista’s support system
  • Carrying a cell phone to answer urgent after-hours support calls on a roster basis (note: this involves being on a rotating roster approximately once every 8 weeks for one week on - a separate allowance is paid for this) 

Person specification

Qualifications and experience:
  • Undergraduate degree in IT (preferred)
  • Experience in a software application support role
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server
  • Strong knowledge of NET
  • Strong knowledge of Networking
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Has a current valid passport or can obtain one promptly if required

  • Commitment to excellent client service
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff and customers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Fast learner with a high level of problem-solving ability
  • A willingness to act on own initiative as well as being an effective team member
  • Ability to work on several tasks and/or projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Able to work effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds
  • Friendly, positive personality and excellent interpersonal skills
