With your knowledge of Energy Storage Systems (ESS) test and production delivery, you’ll be fully supported in developing your expertise in this valuable and sought-after field of engineering by a large team of highly qualified, experienced engineers and managers.
It’s a highly demanding part of our business due to it being the focus of our Track25 business plan. You’ll be designing all ESS verification and validation activities from start to finish which will ensure the electric drive controls and ESS meet our ambitious attribute targets. You’ll be signing off on DVPs with other pats of the Electric Drive Technology team and gathering data to support the CAE team. The development of high performance ESS will enable us to be at the cutting edge of performance and reliability, allowing us to deliver on our goals of increased hybridisation and EV development throughout the 2020s.

To make this goal a reality, we’re rapidly growing our Electric Drive team, based between Woking and Sheffield. The Test and Development Technician will be based at our new, state-of-the-art facility in Sheffield.
Working alongside some of the best Engineers in the Hybrid and Electric Drive industry and leveraging our unique alliances with industry partners and research institutions, we can help you to rapidly develop your career. The team is around 30 strong currently, and we’re expecting this to grow to over 70 in the next couple of years. We’re looking for you to have a good level of experience with ESS design, test, and production. You’ll also need to have an understanding of HV battery safety, charging, and regulatory standards. You should also have experience with battery durability testing such as ageing, cycle testing, and storage testing. In depth knowledge of testing with MiL, SiL, HiL and rig systems will also be useful. Above all else, if you’ve got the passion to develop in this field, this really is the time to join us.
