The Engineering arm of the Commercial business works in partnership with brokers and direct customers, offering a range of inspection services and bespoke insurance products. THE ENGINEER SURVEYOR ROLE: This role is about delivering safety in the workplace through the identification of defects and deterioration. You will be dealing with customers on a daily basis. Engineering technical know-how is essential, as are strong planning and influencing skills. This job is home-based and as a result, you will have to be self-motivated, able to use your own initiative and enjoy working independently. You will provide a first class technical examination service for specified types of plant, ensuring client sites meet regulatory standards and that service meets customer needs and contractual obligations. Confidence in your knowledge and skills is therefore essential, you must also be an excellent communicator who has the ability to influence and build strong working relationships. Whilst experience as an Engineer Surveyor would be welcomed, you might be working in the engineering sector with specific experience of heavy engineering, the lift and crane industry, power industry, building services or production engineering. You will need knowledge of current safety regulations and standards, together with effective planning and organising ability and be confident using modern office technology. You should possess either an engineering qualification in a relevant discipline (HNC minimum or equivalent) plus relevant practical experience. As the company's Engineer Surveyors are field-based, you will need a full UK driving licence. On offer is a competitive benefits package including pension, company car and bonus scheme.
