University Challenge Terms & Conditions

There is a University Challenge event taking place this autumn, on 25 & 26 November 2011 at the NEC, Birmingham and next spring, on 27 & 28 April 2012 at the NEC, Birmingham.

The winning team is the team that receives the most amount of points.

If the winning team has been assembled by their university faculty, they will win £250 for themselves and £500 for their university faculty.

If the team have submitted themselves separately from their university faculty, they will win £750.

If the team that comes second has been assembled by their university faculty, they will receive £150 for their faculty and £100 for their team. If they have been assembled independently of their university faculty, they will receive £250.

The University Challenge judges' decision is final.

 

Transport Refund Terms & Conditions


The National Engineering & Construction Recruitment Exhibition is the only recruitment fair that will refund the cost of travel to the exhibition, including any costs of parking.

There are a number of terms and conditions including:

Procedure

A parking/travel subsidy is available to all full time students.

Conditions

  1. A maximum of £10 per individual will be refunded if travel is by bus, coach or train.
  2. If travel is by car, the parking fee (if under £10) together with the petrol receipt can be claimed, based on a rate of 10p per mile, receipts must be attached. A maximum of £10 per vehicle will be made if travel is by car.
  3. The dates on all tickets and receipts must be appropriate to the date of visit to the exhibition.
  4. No refunds will be made on weekend, weekly, monthly or annual travel cards.
  5. Refunds on Intercity train tickets will be made in proportion to the number of days of visit to the show - for example if the ticket is a three day stay in London and the exhibition is visited on only one day, a third of the cost of the ticket will be refunded.
  6. Taxi fares are not refundable and no refunds will be made on Oyster top-up receipts. Claims will only be processed if supported by an Oyster Usage Statement.
  7. If in doubt about what you will be able to claim, please contact the organisers on transport.necr@vmgl.com BEFORE you travel.
  8. The organisers will accept refunds sent back to the office up to 5pm on the 42nd day after the exhibition (i.e. 6 weeks). Anything received after this will not be considered.
  9. The organisers will endeavour to process claims within four weeks of receipt.
  10. Only claims supported by relevant receipts/ tickets and a copy of your student ID will be considered.
  11. Claims can only be made after 3.30pm on the first day of the exhibition and after 2.30pm on the second day of the exhibition.

Recommend a friend competition terms & conditions

 

Entries should be sent to ulo@vmgl.com with the subject line "NECR competition".

The winner is the visitor who recommends the most engineering or construction professionals or graduates, who then go on to register for and attend the exhibition on either 6 or 7 May 2011.

The winner must also attend the exhibition for the entry to be valid.

The referred visitors must complete the registration form in full.

The organisers will monitor registrations and invalid recommendations will not be considered.

The winner will be chosen within 28 days of the end of the exhibition and will be notified by the organisers.
