The National Engineering & Construction Recruitment Exhibition
The National Engineering & Construction Recruitment Exhibition that took place on 11 & 12 May 2007 at the NEC Birmingham was a tremendous success, with a large audience of both skilled qualified, graduate, and final year engineers and construction professionals attending.
Visitors enjoyed the good array of features on offer to them, as well as the opportunity to meet a large number of well-known employers and fast track their next career step.

Job seekers had the opportunity to get their CV reviewed by the experts on a one-to-one basis.
Interview Clinic
Visitors were able to take part in the free half-hour group sessions for individual and practical advice on how to approach their next interview.
Presentations
A wide variety of presentations across both days offered information on what it is like to work for some of the largest and most interesting engineering firms, as well as general careers advice.
University Challenge
Teams from universities across the country competed in a tough challenge to design, build and test wind-powered and solar-powered vehicles, with the winning team taking back to their university a total of £750!
Women in Engineering Forum
The Women in Engineering Forum was a tremendous success, with a large and varied range of female engineers benefiting from an inspirational presentation from Katy Deacon, the IET’s Young Woman Engineer of the Year 2006, followed by a buffet networking lunch.
Careers Advice Clinic
One-to-one personal careers advice giving tips on getting that dream job and changing direction was on hand for all attendees.
BAE Systems Typhoon Simulator
A life-size replica of the Typhoon, the most advanced cockpit in the Air Force, was very popular with visitors taking advantage of the opportunity to become a real life Maverick!
